The Problem
Adult children — we call them Kin-Keepers — are stretched thin managing careers, families, and the emotional weight of watching a parent age alone. Professional in-home care costs $25–35/hour and is out of reach for most families. UberCARE changes that.
The Solution
The adult child (Kin-Keeper) books a 30–60 minute companion session through the UberCARE app — just like ordering a ride. They choose the time, topic, and preferred companion.
At the scheduled time, the elder's TV switches on automatically. A trained, vetted remote companion appears on screen — no buttons to press, no passwords to remember.
The companion chats, plays games, reads together, or simply listens. Sessions are warm, unscripted, and tailored to the elder's interests — not a chatbot, a real person.
After each session the Kin-Keeper receives a short summary: mood, topics discussed, and any wellbeing flags. Peace of mind, delivered to your phone.
Why the TV?
97% of older adults own a TV — it's the most familiar screen in the home.
Zero learning curve. The companion appears automatically — no app, no login, no remote.
Larger screen means better eye contact and a more natural conversation experience.
Sessions can be scheduled in advance or triggered on-demand by the Kin-Keeper.

Under the Hood
UberCARE combines a curated AI caregiver (Lia), a Small Language Model that runs offline, voice biometrics, and a Digital Twin to create a care experience that is personal, private, and always available.

Lia is an on-call AI hospice nurse persona with an optional live scheduler. She handles intake, matching, and ongoing check-ins — available 24 / 7 through the elder's TV.
A compact, on-device language model processes conversations locally — no cloud required. Combined with the Family Support Circle and document context, it personalises every interaction.
Voice patterns are used for passive health monitoring — detecting mood shifts, cognitive changes, and early warning signs without any wearable device or manual input.
Because the SLM runs on-device, UberCARE keeps working during internet outages — critical for rural elders and areas with unreliable connectivity.
A Digital Twin is created not only for the elder, but for anyone using the platform — Kin-Keepers, caregivers, and spouses alike.
The Digital Twin acts as translator between:
